Blue Path Training

Help make King County more accessible by participating in a BluePath map-a-thon!

This is a fun group volunteer activity for your company, church or family.

BluePath is an online database of accessible businesses. By participating in a map-a-thon, you will be helping other people in King County find businesses that meet their accessibility needs.

About our training:

  • A two-hour in-person or virtual training on the ADA is required to participate, which we provide at no cost.

  • We offer a recurring virtual training option every other Friday from 10 a.m. - noon.

  • For in-person trainings, contact us.

Sign up your group to access the training:

  • Phone: 1-866-545-7055

  • Email: info@disabilityempowerment.org

How a map-a-thon works:

Your team will get trained on the Americans with Disabilities Act Title III Public Accommodations. You’ll then receive a list of participating businesses in your chosen neighborhood to canvass.

You’ll help business owners and managers assess their business’s accessibility, for example whether the entrance is wheelchair accessible. Teams will “compete” for how many businesses they can map. Each team will receive one raffle entry per completed business that’s assessed. Prizes include bouldering passes, Argosy cruise tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more!

Businesses that participate will get a listing on the BluePath database as an accessible businesses—a win-win for business and accessibility!
