Meet our new team members
We have some new staffers we can't wait for you to meet!
Say hello to:
Dustin Saksek - Pre-ETS Coordinator
Originally from rural and suburban Pennsylvania, Dustin moved to Seattle after completing undergrads in English Literature and Philosophy. Since then, he has built his skillset navigating time unhoused, unemployed and underemployed; working without guardrails with ADHD and ASD. With a focus on local art and music, he has built up to coaching high school wrestling, directing international marketing efforts and building his own small business. Now contributing to the Disability Empowerment Center, his work emphasizes building community and providing the education and resources necessary to navigate the same obstacles he did, without the trial-and-error pitfalls that he stumbled through.
Tia Bellew - AmeriCorps Emergency Management Educator
With a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Cal Poly Pomona, and experience collaborating with FEMA, Tia is passionate about empowering marginalized communities through inclusive emergency preparedness. In her current AmeriCorps position, she aims to provide knowledge, support and the resources necessary for individuals with disabilities to feel more confident and in control of their emergency preparedness journey.
Sara Marshall - AmeriCorps KCDC Coordinator
Sara is excited to further her work strengthening community-led advocacy through collaboration across disability organizations. She graduated from Whitman College with a degree in politics and environmental studies and is deeply interested in disability theory and community-based approaches to access. She is thrilled to continue learning from local advocates and organizations working toward disability justice.
You can meet all of our staff on our About Us page.
