Call for art!
Disability Empowerment Center invites you to submit original pieces of 2D Art in various mediums that represents the theme "Perspective” for the Together Center Gallery at Together Center in Redmond.
The exhibit will be on display from June 26 to October 31, 2025.
ART SPECIFICATIONS
1. Theme: “Perspective”
2. Medium: You are invited to submit 2D artwork in various mediums including but not limited to: acrylic, oils, charcoal, digital illustration and photography. Fiber art is also welcome if it can be hung on a wall.
3. Dimensions: Weight of artwork (Including frame, wire and ring installation) must not exceed 30lbs per piece
4. Installation: All artwork must be framed and/or ready to install using our permanent hanging system upon arrival. This means artwork must be equipped with wires and D-rings that can be used to suspend the art from the hooks used in our hanging system. Together Center and Disability Empowerment Center reserves the right to request artwork hanging hardware be modified to properly hang on the permanent hanging system
ART SUBMISSION
Artists are requested to submit an image of their artwork (.jpg, .png) via email to lucy@disabilityempowerment.org by Friday, May 16, at 5 p.m. (PST).
Please use subject name "DEC-Together-Center-Gallery_Your Full Name"
Please include the following in your submission along with the image:
a. Title of the artwork
b. Short description of how the artwork relates to the theme (50 words or less)
c. Dimensions of the artwork
d. Medium used
e. Price of the artwork (optional)
f. Your bio (100 words or less) and social media handle
SCHEDULE
1. Application Deadline: Friday, May 16, at 5 p.m. (PST).
2. Selection Notification: Individuals whose art is selected will be informed via email by Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m.
3. Submission and Installation: Selected artists will be invited to bring their artwork to Together Center on Thursday, May 29, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. or Friday, May 30, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Note: Exhibiting artists will be signing a liability waiver releasing Together Center and Disability Empowerment Center or any damage/loss/theft of artwork during the exhibit.
4. Artist Reception: Disability Empowerment Center will partner with Together Center to host a reception for community and invited guests honoring contributions and artwork on Thursday, June 26, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
5. Exhibition: The art will be exhibited from June 26 to October 31, 2025. Artists have an opportunity to list the price and sell their artwork. However, we ask that you take down the painting to hand over to the buyer only after the exhibition ends.
6. De-installation: Artists can collect their artwork from the Together Center between October 31 and November 7 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
